With the audio guide, included in your ticket, several soldiers from the fort’s garrison tell you their stories. Immersive and informative.
The moving film ‘The Story of the Fort’ gives you a clear overview in 15 minutes of the attack on the fort and on Belgium on 10 May 1940.
You follow a visitor route through the underground barracks, the museum, the infirmary and a limited section of the five-kilometre-long network of tunnels on the middle level. Along the way, you gain a clear impression of the devastating effects of a ‘hollow charge’ explosion.
You finish your visit with the unique 180° immersive experience ‘Granit’s Attack at Dawn’, which puts you right in the middle of the action during the attack on the fort.
When visiting with an audio guide, without a guide accompanying you, the following areas are not accessible for safety reasons:
- the combat positions;
- the gun rooms of the artillery casemates and turrets;
- the command post.
