During a self-guided visit, you will independently explore the impressive underground military complex of Fort Eben-Emael.
You will follow a fixed route through the underground barracks, the museum, the infirmary, and a limited part of the 5-kilometer-long tunnel system on the middle floor. You will get a clear view of the effects of a "shaped charge" explosion and can watch an engaging 15-minute film that provides insight into the fort's history and the attack on May 10, 1940.
With a self-guided visit, you do not have access to:
- The combat bunkers,
- The gun room of an artillery casemate,
- The command post.
Allow approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes for the visit.
No reservation is required for a self-guided visit.
The fort is open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, except on Mondays (unless that Monday is a Belgian public holiday) and on some closure days. The last entry is at 2:30 PM. Winter closure from the Monday after the Christmas holiday until mid-February.
By visiting the fort, you accept our terms and conditions.
