What to expect

  • Guided tour through part of the immense network of underground galleries.

  • Before and after the guided tour, you can freely visit the barracks and the museum, and explore the 180° immersive experience “Granit’s Attack at Dawn.
  • The combined ticket is valid for the whole day.
     

This tour is accessible to wheelchair users when accompanied by one person (except for the combat bunkers). Due to the number of steps, a visit to a combat bunker is not recommended for people with heart problems or reduced mobility.

What to expect

  • A guided tour for visitors who have already taken a tour of the fort.
  • One Saturday each month, we organise an in-depth programme for enthusiasts. Each month features a different theme; the programme is repeated every three months.
  • The discovery tour concludes with the start-up of the nearly century-old Carels generator, the mechanical heart of the fort. This impressive 175 hp engine was installed in the late 1930s to supply the fort with essential electricity. After the Second World War, it fell silent… today, it is running once again.
  • The “Specialists” tour lasts 3 hours, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Afterwards, with prior reservation, you may join the “Exterior Discovery Tour” or freely visit the barracks, the museum, and the immersive 180° experience.
  • The ticket remains valid for the entire day.

The minimum age is 16 years.

The discovery tours are not suitable for people with reduced mobility, nor for people with heart problems or claustrophobia.

What to expect

  • A route along all the key points of the massif, where the attack of 10 May 1940 took place and where the Blitzkrieg began for Belgium.
  • Together with the guide, you will visit the Mi-Nord machine-gun bunker from the plateau. This bunker was captured by the German attackers and subsequently used as a command post.
  • The exterior tour lasts 3 hours, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Beforehand, with prior reservation, you may join the “Interior Discovery Tour” or freely visit the barracks, the museum, and the immersive 180° experience.
  • The ticket remains valid for the entire day.

The minimum age is 16 years.

The discovery tours are not suitable for people with reduced mobility, nor for people with heart problems or claustrophobia.

The underground barracks and museum are heated, while the tunnel network maintains a constant temperature of 11°C. We strongly recommend wearing a sweater or jacket, as well as closed-toe shoes.
