During this informal information evening, you will get to know our team, our operations, and the rich history of the fort.
You'll discover what it means to take visitors on a journey through time — from strategic fortress to impressive military heritage.

 

🎓 Training to become a guide at Fort Eben-Emael

After the information evening, our guide training program begins, a captivating combination of theory and practice, followed by an evaluation and an internship period during which you will gradually develop into a guide at Fort Eben-Emael.

🧭 Theoretical part

You will gain insight into the history, architecture and military context of Fort Eben-Emael.
For practical reasons, the theoretical lessons are taught in (basic) English.

📚 Self-study and learning support

Self-study is also expected during the program. You'll receive a comprehensive syllabus and textbooks in your native language, allowing you to process and deepen your knowledge at your own pace.
👉 You can always call on a buddy who is ready to help you and answer your questions.

🎤 Practical part & evaluation

The evaluations, tours and your interventions will take place in your own language.
During the internship, you will receive guidance from experienced guides and learn how to offer visitors an unforgettable experience.

Last admission at 2:30 PM.
Discover the barracks, the museum, and part of the 5 km of underground galleries on your own every day.
Join our English-speaking guided tours on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:15 AM and 1:45 PM.
Private and group visits available on request.
