An all-day guided visit 'Ã la carte'
What to expect
- This is an all-day visit that lasts 6h30 whereby you compose your own itinerary from our 'a la carte' menu of options. When you arrive at the fort, your guide will discuss your chosen options with you depending on the weather, difficulty level and available time.
Prices
Prices 2024 are valid until 5 January 2025.
- Flat rate of €360, including guide, for 1 to 10 participants.
- Payable at the ticket office on the day of your visit, preferably by card, unless agreed otherwise beforehand with the admin office.
- Free cancellation up to 2 days before your visit.
- In case of late cancellation or no show, a fee of €30 will be charged.
To make a booking
- Build your own programme by choosing from the 6 possible options on the booking form below.
- Don't tick all the boxes. It won't be possible to visit everything in a single all-day visit.
- Keep in mind that an all-day visit is physically demanding.
- All-day visits start at 10h00 and last 6h30.
- Pre-booking is mandatory. Visits can be booked throughout the year, except on Mondays and closure days.
- Bookings can be made up to 8 days in advance.
6 available options for your 'a la carte' visit
- 1. Barracks, museum area, DFS glider
- 2. Artillery casemate
- 3. Armoured artillery cupola 120mm
- 4. Long underground trail to canal bunker north
- 5. Armoured artillery cupola 75mm and plateau of the attack
- 6. Outdoor hike to the plateau of the attack and bunker O1 with the viewpoint across the Albert Canal, Ternaaien locks and river Meuse valley
- Number of participants
- We can accommodate a maximum of 10 participants on an all-day visit.
- You can alter the number of participants until the start of your visit so long as you don't go over 10.
- We are unfortunately unable to accommodate children under the age of 16.
- Start of the visit
- Your guide will wait for you at the entrance of the fort.
- For smooth running, we kindly ask you to arrive for 9h45.
- If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your visit may be shortened.
- Lunch
- All day-visits include a 30 min lunch break. Please bring your own food and drinks.
Points to note
- Personal safety
- An all-day visit is physically demanding and not recommended for people with claustrophobia and heart conditions.
- Mobility
- All-day visits are is not possible for persons with reduced mobility, wheelchair users or pushchairs.
- Clothing and Equipment
- Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing if you are planning on visiting the plateau. Also wear outdoor boots or other suitable footwear and bear in mind that there is a 65m climb to the top.
- Please bring a torch.
- Temperature
- The underground barracks and museum are heated.​​
- In the corridor system and the bunkers there is a constant temperature of 11°C.​
